Coach John Hackworth has named a 20-player roster for the U.S. U-15 boys national team’s third international trip of 2015 — Aug. 11-20 in England.
The camp will include friendlymatches against England on Aug. 16 and 19.
“At the moment England is trying to do a lot of the same things that we are,” Hackworth said. “Now we’ll go there and there will be abuzz about soccer and the new season starting and at the same time we’ll be at [the FA’s] national training center, and I think both coaching staffs are very much of the mindset that thesefriendlies are an opportunity to build on the player development principles while doing it against a similar opponent.”
Last spring, the U-15s won Tournament delle Nazioni in Gradiscad’Isonzo, Italy. In their second trip abroad, they lost to South American powers Uruguay, 1-0, Argentina, 1-2, and Paraguay, 3-1.
