The BBC’s Rachel Brown-Finnis points out Manchester United, “will not properly explain their position” on not fielding a women’s team. “Southampton arethe only other Premier League side not to have an affiliated women’s team,” writes Brown-Finnis, “although they have just announced a new under-21 team for next season, giving a pathwayfor the young female players in their girls’ sides — something United’s girls do not have.”
Europeans are not into women’s soccer unlike here.It is very difficult to see a woman’s game after watching Manchester United men play or like any other men’s team in Europe. If women want to have their own soccer than then begin their own league and not bank on the men’s teams for support. Do it on your own, for If the soccer is good than you will fill stadiums.
Frank hasn’t posted his usual racial nonsense recently (i.e. his comments that Asian players don’t shoot from outside the box because they feel shame if they miss) so not he’s on to sexist comments. Great job Frankie!
Frank is right about the women’s game is not that important to them in England. It was not that important in Germany until they started to win. In Germany they don’t take off from work to see the women’s game. Here in NYC no club had a women’s youth team either when I started coaching youth teams. No coaches wanted to do a girls team either.
