Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel on Wednesday failed to overturn a three-match suspension for standing on Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea at the endof the former’s 2-1 loss to the Red Devils at Anfield last weekend. Skrtel was charged with violent conduct for the action, which will see him ruled out of league games away at Arsenal and athome against Newcastle. He will also miss the Reds’ FA Cup quarterfinal replay at Blackburn.
