[ROUNDUP: Sunday] Icelandic international Dagny Brynjarsdottir‘s goal in the 87th minute carried No. 2 Florida State to a2-1 win over Virginia Tech in a game that saw all three goals scored in the last eight minutes.
Senior Marta Bakowska-Mathews opened thescoring for FSU in the 82nd minute, putting away a pass from Brynjarsdottir, but the Hokies answered right back 32 seconds later on a free kick from 19 yards by Kallie Peurifoy.
The goal snapped FSU’s scoreless minute streak at 589 minutes — the third longest streak in school history. It also marked the first goalallowed by the Seminoles in ACC play this year.
