In Germany over the past few weeks there has been a wave of nation-wide demonstrations against right-wing extremism, and in defense of democracy. I was attending one in Frankfurt the weekend before last when I saw my favorite placard, which plainly said, ‘You don’t have to be an asshole.’ I immediately thought of Jose Mourinho, who had been sacked as coach of Roma just a few days earlier.
