[MILESTONE] Senior Brittney Steinbruch scored two goals in a 3-1 win over visiting Florida Gulf Coast in the‘Canes home-opener on Tuesday night at Cobb Stadium and set the school record for career goals.

Her 30th and 31st career goals passed BritneyButcher’s mark of 29 set in 2001-04.
 
Steinbruch broke the record in the 59th minute, collecting a Kelley Griffin pass 15 yardsin front of the goal and beating the keeper to the left side.
 
“It was exciting,”she said. “My parents were here and I’m happy that they were able to see it, but it waseven better because we got a win in our home-opener.”

The three Miami goals came in a four-minute span. Jordan Roseboro had the thirdgoal.
 
“It was a good home opener and I am happy with the three goals in four minutes,” said Miami coach Tricia Taliaferro.“Brittney did a great job handling the pressure of trying to score a goal to make her Miami’s all-time leading goal scorer.”
