Arsenal was so far down to Reading in their League Cup match — 4-0 to be exact — that many Gunner fans headed to the exits at Reading early and they missed the game’s remarkable finish. Arsenalpulled even 4-4 in the sixth minute of stoppage time and won 7-5 in overtime.

“We had a big party in the second half,” said Arsenal manager ArseneWenger before remarking that the final score was more familiar in tennis, joking “so that’s the first set to us.”

Wenger said Arsenal got back in the game in the second half withwhat he called “a decent performance” before admitting that the comeback “may be” one of his greatest victories at Arsenal.

He praised the Arsenal fans that did stay at the MadejskiStadium.

“I felt sorry for our fans and I would like to give them credit tonight,” he said. “A big part of them stayed behind and I am happy that we paid them back.” And for those wholeft? “I give them less credit,” he replied.
