Every city seems to have one: a coaching institution, someone who has been coaching forever at all levels. Einar Thorarinsson was born in Iceland but hasdedicated his life to coaching in Spokane, at East Valley High School, in the ODP program, with the local USL, plus nine years at Division III Whitworth and now 20 years at Division I Gonzaga, whichopens its home season Thursday against Cal Poly. “It’s all about the players — so many good players and good people,” said Thorarinsson.
