1. The NWSL will hold the 2020 College Draft on Jan. 16 at the United Soccer Coaches Convention at the Baltimore Convention Center. TheOrlando Pride holds the first pick. Sky Blue FC has the No. 2 and No. 3 picks while the Chicago Stars have four of the final six picks in the first round. The release of College Draft details suggeststhat any NWSL expansion plans for 2020 are off. It had been rumored that Sacramento would join the league next season. 2. Tanner Tessman, who was called up to the U.S. under-20 national team in August, has accepted a football scholarship to defending BCS champion Clemson thatwill allow him to play soccer and place-kick for the Tigers. Tessman hails from Birmingham, Alabama, but followed the likes of Brandon Servania and Chris Richards from Alabama to the FC Dallasacademy. He played 16 games for USL League One champion North Texas SC in 2019.
