[HOMEGROWN WATCH] Former Canada U-20 international Jonathan Osorio made his debut with Toronto FC as a late sub in its2-1 win over Sporting Kansas City in Saturday’s home opener. The Toronto-born midfielder is the club’s eighth homegrown signing.
The 20-year-old Osorio impressed during the club’spreseason camp in Florida and was signed to a first-team contract on the eve of the 2013 season.
He began training with the KIA Toronto FC Academy in September 2012.
Prior totraining with TFC, Osorio played in the Canadian Soccer League last season with SC Toronto. He has also played for Club National de Uruguay.
He represented Canada at the 2011 CONCACAFU-20 Championship in Guatemala.
