Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid lost their appeals against FIFA bans on signing players in 2017’s two transfer windows. Like Barcelona before them, the Madrid clubs were punished for breaking FIFAregulations over the transfer of foreign minors. The ban was stayed pending the appeals, allowing them to make moves during this summer’s window. The clubs will now appeal to the Court of Arbitrationfor Sport.
