The Vancouver-Toronto FC opener was the most-viewed MLS game ever on Canadian network TSN with an average audience of 353,000 viewers.

Toronto beat Vancouver, 3-1, in the debut for Jozy Altidore and Sebastian Giovinco.

The previous record was 352,000 average viewers for TFC’s 2014 home openeragainst D.C. United.

–MLS’s debut on Sky Sports 3 featured a doubleheader airing live Sunday night in the UK. Orlando City-New York City FC averaged 32,100 viewers while Sporting KC-RedBulls averaged 25,500.

Philadelphia’s opener against Colorado averaged a 1.5 television rating on 6abc, making it the highest-rated Union match in club history.The game peaked during the last 15 minutes of the contest to a 3.2 rating.

  1. I believe the Montreal Impact’s first game in MLS played against the Vancouver Whitecaps drew an average audience of over 500,000 viewers. I guess that game was on Sportsnet.
