Only days after getting his contract extended through 2022, 20-year-old Keaton Parks could debut for Benfica’s first team in the Portuguese Primeira Liga Saturday when it plays Estoril.
Parks was called into the first-team squad for Saturday’s game. He started the 2017-18 season with Benfica “B” after moving from Varzim, another second division club.
“As itwas a new team, ” said the young Texan, “I didn’t have many expectations, I didn’t know what to expect, but it has been an amazing experience. Playing with the B team and having my opportunity in thefirst team. Training with them every day, playing in the weekend, has been good.”
