The U.S. U-17 boys national team opened the Vaclav Jezek Tournament in the Czech Republic with a 4-2 loss to fellow 2015 U-17 World Cup qualifier Russia and a penalty-kick shootout loss to Sloveniaafter a 1-1 tie.
Alexandr Lomovitskiy scored a hat trick for the Russians against the USA, which got its goals from Joshua Perez and HugoArrellano.
Against Slovenia, Alex Zendejas opened the scoring by heading home a Haji Wright. The USA gave up the equalizer with five minutesleft.
The Americans face Slovakia in their final group game on Friday and finish up with a placement game on Saturday.

this was very disappointing outcome if we are not going to get blasted in the U-17 world cup in Oct this year. Group A is a solid group. we should start to really overhaul our talent pool, we only have 4-5 out of 40 kids that are associated with European clubs we need 3x more then that to start being competitive.
Hey now, this is same team that beat Brazil in Nike friendlies 2 years ago.
The USMNT also beat holland & germany in friendlies before losing in the gold cup. I dont put any stock in none tournament football
