U.S. national team coach Bob Bradley named his 23-player roster for the World Cup on Wednesday. Bradley and the 23 players he’s taking to South Africagathered for the announcement at ESPN studios in Bristol, Conn. The big surprise was the absence of veteran Brian Ching and selection of Robbie Findley.

U.S. roster:
Goalkeepers: Brad Guzan, Marcus Hahnemann, TimHoward.
Defenders: Carlos Bocanegra, Jonathan Bornstein, Steve Cherundolo, Jay DeMerit, Clarence Goodson, OguchiOnyewu, Jonathan Spector.
Midfielders: DaMarcus Beasley, Michael Bradley, Ricardo Clark, Clint Dempsey, LandonDonovan, Maurice Edu, Benny Feilhaber, Stuart Holden, Jose Francisco Torres.
Forwards: Jozy Altidore, Edson Buddle,Robbie Findley, Herculez Gomez.

The following players weren’t picked: defenders Chad Marshall and HeathPearce, midfielders Alejandro Bedoya, Robbie Rogers, Sacha Kljestan andforwards Eddie Johnson and Ching.
