Union Omaha’s first USL League One season has been on hold without it getting a chance to play a game.

But it has donated its jersey for its inaugural season to CHI Health and NebraskaMedicine – two prominent health organizations at the forefront of the local fight against COVID-19 – in order to raise awareness about their efforts.

CHI Health’s name willappear on Union Omaha’s black jersey, and Nebraska Medicine’s name will go across the white jersey. On the back, underneath the last name and number, both jerseys will feature the #BendTheCurvehashtag. Union Omaha is selling the jerseys online to raise funds.

“This is about all of us playing a role in bending the curve and ensuring our healthcare heroes have the resourcesrequired to treat those that need it most,” said Alliance Sports Chairman and Union Omaha CEO Gary Green. “In times such as these, we need to continue to have compassion and do whatwe do best — unite as a community and support those most in need.”

Green has also donated 45,000 masks to local hospitals, including CHI Health and Nebraska Medicine while UnionOmaha and its investors are donating nearly $250,000 in funds and assets to help build awareness and to support those fighting COVID-19.
