Romario Lomeli and Caleb Calvert led Chivas USA’s U18 team to a 2-1 victory over theGalaxy. Lomeli gave the Red-and-White the lead in the 20th minute off a pass by Brian Kennedy. Early into the second half, Calvert notched his 22nd goal of theseason to extend its lead. It proved to be the difference as the Galaxy scored in the 80th minute via a penalty kick. With the win, Chivas USA qualified for the USSDA playoffs that will kick off onJune 24 at FC Dallas Park.
Chivas USA’s U15/16 team defeated the Galaxy 4-2, to extend its unbeaten streak to 12 games. The Southwest Division champions got goals fromMark Hernandez, Bilal Abdallah, Jorge Ruiz (his 17th goal this season) andformer U-17 resident Amaya Adonis.
