The 19-year-old son of U.S. national team coach Gregg Berhalter, after one season at the University of North Carolina, signed a Homegrown contract with the Columbus Crew.Sebastian Berhalter joined the Crew academy when his father served as head coach of the first team and played for its teams from U-13 through U-19. A midfielder, he appeared in17 games (starting in nine) for the UNC, where both his parents also played varsity. His mother, Rosalind, was part of two national championships with the Tar Heels
