New San Jose coach Matias Almeyda battled against NYCFC sporting director Claudio Reyna when Argentina faced the USA at the 1996 Olympics. Argentina beat theUSA, 3-1, but then 23-year-old Reyna, who opened the scoring in the 1st minute, won many midfield battles against the 22-year-old Almeyda.
