Euro 2016 semifinalist Wales is still alive — barely — in World Cup 2018 qualifying after tying Serbia, 1-1, in Belgrade.

Coach Chris Coleman still believes Wales can stillqualify, though, despite the four-point gap between his team and Serbia and Ireland, tied for first place.

Said Coleman, “I know people look at our four points with four to play … canwe bridge that gap? 100 percent we can bridge that gap. We are looking forward to the challenges left in this campaign.”

Only the group winners of Europe’s nine groups are assured ofqualifying. The eight best runners-up enter playoffs to determine Europe’s other four qualifiers. Host Russia qualifies automatically.
