[HEXAGONAL: Day 1] So much for Mexico coach Chepo de la Torre's goal of going 10-0-0 in the Hexagonal. Starting three
Englishmen making their international debuts, Jamaica pulled a huge upset in holding Mexico to a 0-0 tie in a game the Reggae Boyz could have won with a little luck. Costa Rica came back from two
goals down to tie Panama, 2-2, in Panama City. The results earned away points for two of its rivals and completed a miserable day for the USA in the Hexagonal.

Mexico had won all 12 competitive games under de la Torre -- six games at the 2011 Gold Cup and six games in the semifinal round of qualifying -- but could do
nothing right against Jamaica.
''I don't know if this is our worst game, but it's the one that leaves me more upset, because it was a World Cup qualifier at home,'' said de la Torre.
''Sometimes you win ugly, but today we did not do even that."
Azteca Stadium was more than half-empty, and the 40,000 fans who showed up jeered the Tri off the field.
Jobi McAnuff, one of four English-born players had never played for Jamaica before Wednesday, set the tone with a shot off the post in the second minute.
Ryan Johnson, one of three MLS players in the Jamaica starting lineup, had a chance to put the Reggae Boyz ahead but he put his breakaway attempt straight at
Mexico keeper Jesus Corona.
Portland Timbers keeper Donovan Ricketts, who had been recalled for the
Hexagonal, earned the shutout for Jamaica.
PANAMA-COSTA RICA. Real Salt Lake's Alvaro Saborio scored one goal
and set up Bryan Ruiz for the tying goal on a scissor kick in the 84th minute to give Costa Rica a share of the points.
Panama looked to run away
with the game thanks to goals by Luis Henriquez and Roman Torres in the first 26 minutes, but Saborio reduced the
deficit six minutes before the end of the half.
