Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti declared that there are no other contenders for the 2014 Ballon d’Or than Cristiano Ronaldo, after his star forward hit yet another hat trickduring Real’s 5-0 demolition of Athletic Bilbao. The treble, Ronaldo’s third in four league games, brought his tally for the season to an astonishing 13.
“I think there can beno doubt about Cristiano for the Ballon d’Or this year. There’s no putting money on it,” the Real coach said, adding that he was also encouraged by the team’s performance.“This was our best game, much better than last year at this point. What we need now is continuity. We were more attentive at set-pieces and kept a clean sheet. Everything went well.”
