• Marcia Tafarel has been named as the head coach of the new U.S. women’s futsal national team. The team will be U.S. Soccer’s ninth extended national team and stage its first international identification camp March 23-26 in Walnut Creek, California. Tafarel, who played for Brazil at the 1991 and 1995 Women’s World Cups and the 1996 Olympic Games, has been coaching futsal in the United States since 2004.
