A soccer outlet unknown to U.S. fans a year ago has joined the world of apps.
Miami-based beINSPORT, which crashed into the American soccer consciousness by buying up rights to valuable properties such as World Cup qualifiers and Italian and Spanish soccer, is preparing to launch the beINSPORT app. An official announcement is expected in the next day or so.
Exclusive video, news and scheduling content will be available on Android and iOS platforms, with free downloadsfrom the Google Play Store or iTunes App Store. The content includes coverage of La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1, Conmebol and Concacaf World Cup qualifying and more.Also available on the app is beIN SPORTinternational content such as
horse racing, motor sports, team handball, tennis, volleyball and boxing, FIBA basketball, and rugby.
Users can access video, news, or schedulinginformation for beIN SPORT HD and beIN SPORT en Español using three separate tabs. The app includes filters so users can streamline their access to content.
ORLANDO MAYOR BULLISH ON STADIUM. Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer is certainly bullish on building a MLS soccer stadium.

“I can tell you with certainty that is where we would like to construct the stadium,” said Dyer of thetwo-block location “It makes sense.”
The soccer stadium would be part of a downtown area that would include the Florida Citrus Bowl (football stadium that is the current home of OrlandoCity), Amway Center (basketball arena) and the downtown Performing Arts Center.
“That’s the perfect location,” added Dyer. “We have the parking already associated with the otherfacilities in the downtown area.”
Funding for the $110 stadium project still needs to be finalized. Orange County politicians are balking at chipping in tourist tax money.
“Ican’t see any reason that I will change my position,” said County Commissioner Fred Brummer. “The more I read, the more I see, the more, ‘No,’ I become.”
NSCAA ELECTIONS. The National Soccer Coaches Association of America will be holding elections for five positions, including Vice President for Education andVice President for Membership.
Any active or life member can nominate himself or herself or may submit one or more other nominees for the positions. Nominations must be completed no laterthan June 14.
