Bob Bradley‘s Le Havre came within a goal of being promoted to France’s Ligue 1 when it beat Bourg-en-Bresse, 5-0, and third-place Metz lost at Lens, 1-0. Le Havre needed to win and Metz neededto win by a combined margin of seven goals for Le Havre to overtake Metz for the final promotion spot. The teams finished tied on goal difference (plus-10) but Metz had the edge on goals scored(54-54).
