For its World Cup debut, Cabo Verde, a nation of 10 islands off West Africa, will be wearing kits from Capelli Sport.
Capelli, the New York-based sportswear company, introduced the home and away kits that draw inspiration from the air and sea routes that connect the nation and into cities like Lisbon, Boston and Paris, where there are large immigrant communities.
The theme of the launch is “connected through rhythm.” Cape Verde has a population of about 525,000 and an even larger population among the Cabo Verdean diaspora.
