[USC-UCLA WOMEN] Crosstown rivals USC and UCLA drew a new NCAA women’s regular-season attendance record of 8,527 fans to the Coliseum for the Women of Troy’s1-0 win, their first regular-season win over the Bruins since 1998.

Autumn Altamirano‘s goal in the 86th minute was the difference in the game.

The previous NCAA women’s record crowd was 8,204 for Texas A&M’s game against North Carolina in 2006.

The last time USC and UCLA clashed in the Coliseum, a crowd of 7,204was in attendance.

USC followed up a dangerous UCLA corner kick chance with a counterattack. Karter Haug lofted the ball deep for Altamirano– who had entered the game just over a minute earlier – and Altamirano rocketed a shot to the upper back of the net to improve the Trojans to 9-4-3 overall and 2-2-1 in Pac-10 play.

UCLA is now 9-6-1 overall and 2-3-0 in the Pac-10. It has lost four of its last six games.
