San Francisco handed No. 8 BYU just its second loss of the season with a 2-1 comeback win over the Cougars that moved them into a share of the WCC lead with BYU and Santa Clara at 4-1-0.
Madue Lyons scored her first goal of the year in the 15th minute to give BYU the lead. In the first 15 minutes, the Cougars outshot USF, 4-0. The rest of theway, it was almost all USF as the Dons outshot BYU, 15-2 and held BYU without a shot after the goal for the next 62 minutes.

“They changed their formation in the second half and just really came after us,” BYU head coach Jennifer Rockwoodsaid. “It made us just a little too panicky and we didn’t settle down. Hopefully, it’s a really good lesson for us to learn.”
BYU stays in the Bay Area toplay Santa Clara on Saturday. The Broncos came from behind to defeat San Diego 2-1 on Thursday night.
