Columbus Crew head coach Wilfried Nancy has agreed to a contract extension.

The agreement comes four months after the Columbus Crew won the MLS Cup 2023 title and less than a week after it qualified for the Concacaf Champions Cup semifinals. In 2023, the Crew tied a franchise record with 57 points and led MLS with 67 goals scored in the regular season.

Nancy’s success at CF Montreal and with the Crew, which he joined last season, and the style of play he has imposed on the MLS teams made the 47-year-old Frenchman the most sought-after coach in MLS.

• What They’re Saying: “Wilfried has delivered in every way, and then some, with his leadership and devotion to entertaining soccer,” said Tim Bezbatchenko, the Crew president and general manager. “We are confident with his and our team’s collective leadership and collaboration that we can continue to build upon the foundation that has been laid and consistently compete for championships for our fans and the city of Columbus.”
