The Denver Summit and the Washington Spirit played to a scoreless draw before a record NWSL crowd of 63,004 fans at Empower Field at Mile High, the home of the NFL’s Broncos.

The Summit is still building a temporary 12,000-seat in Centennial while it just closed this week on the purchase of the 14-acre property at Santa Fe Yards that will be the home for its premanent stadium, set to open in 2028.

Current slump: The KC Current set all kinds of records in 2025 in losing just three times in 26 games — once in its first 23. It has opened the 2026 season with three losses in its last three games by a combined margin of 7-1 after a win on opening day under new coach Chris Armas. Almost as surprising as the Current’s poor start is that of the Spirit, which finished second in the 2025 regular season and playoffs. Its scoreless draw in Denver left it winless in four games (one and three ties).
