FC Cincinnati got help up front with the signing of 19-year-old Venezuelan forward Kevin Kelsy on loan from Ukrainian power Shakhtar Donetsk and adding him to its roster on MLS’s U22 Initiative.

FC Cincinnati, the 2023 Supporters’ Shield winner, is off to a 5-2-3 start — tied for second in the overall standings — but has scored just 12 goals in 10 games and only three combined from forwards Aaron Boupendza and Corey Baird.

“We’re thrilled to have Kevin join the group,” said FC Cincinnati general manager Chris Albright. “He’s a talented young player with incredible potential and we look forward to working with him. He’s a physically gifted forward with a strong mentality who will fit in well with our team, and we’d like to welcome him to FC Cincinnati.”
