• Clemson and Notre Dame advance to Men’s College Cup final. Clemson and Notre Dame earned 1-0 decisions over West Virginia and Oregon State, which were both making their first appearance in the national semifinals. Shawn Smart finished a spectacular buildup with a volley for Clemson’s winner against West Virginia in the 37th minute. On Monday, the Tigers, winners in 1984, 1987 and 2015, will face Notre Dame in the final. Eno Nto (who played for Derby County in the UEFA Youth League) smashed home the winner with his 11th goal for the Fighting Irish, whose only previous title came in 2013. Oregon State was without first-year head coach Greg Dalby and Spanish midfielder Javier Armas, both suspended when Armas played in the 1-0 win over North Carolina in the quarterfinals. Armas played despite receiving his 8th yellow card of the season in the previous match, a 7-1 win over SMU, that triggered a one-game suspension.
