Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey, who suffered a fractured tibia and fibula in a challenge with Stoke’s Ryan Shawcross, vowedthat he will be a better, stronger player when he returns next season.
“It is very hard to take but I am young and have time on my side,” said the 19-year-old Welshman. “I had anoperation last weekend and, while it will take time for my leg to heal, I am determined and focused on overcoming this injury and hope to be back fitter and stronger than before.”
Ramseysaid he doesn’t want to dwell on the injury that resulted in his leg hanging at an angle. He did thank Stoke’s Glenn Whelan, who immediately came to his sidebut did not mention Shawcross. “Glenn Whelan was especially kind and I really appreciated his immediate assistance on the pitch as well as the medical support from Stoke City,” said Ramsey. “I alsowant to say thanks to Arsenal for helping my family this week.
