Miroslav Klose, the top scorer in World Cup history and Germany’s all-time leading scorer with 71 goals, is ending his playing career and will join Joachim Loew‘sGerman national team coaching staff as he studies for his pro license. Klose’s contract with Italy’s Lazio expired after last season.
“I celebrated my greatest successes in thenational team and this was a wonderful time which remains unforgettable,” Klose said. “That is why I’m delighted to return to the DFB. In the past few months, I have thought a lot aboutcontinuing my playing career, but also about looking at new avenues, namely becoming a coach.”
