Liverpool on Thursday confirmed an 8,500-seat expansion of the Main Stand at Anfield, its home stadium, which will bring overall capacity to 54,000. Construction will begin early next year with aview to being completed sometime during the 2016-17 season. Games will continue to be played at Anfield during the construction.
