Poch and the Milan vacancy

AC Milan is the winner of seven European Cup and UEFA Champions League titles — second behind only Real Madrid — but won’t be playing in the Champions League for the second season in a row.

It is looking for a new head coach, a new sporting director and a new chief executive officer all at once. 

A candidate for the head coaching job is Mauricio Pochettino.

Praiseworthy Gio Reyna offers Poch unique talent

Mauricio Pochettino does not hand out praise readily, but he singled out the selection of Gio Reyna to the 2026 World Cup team.

He described the 23-year-old Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder as an “amazing talent” at Tuesday’s press conference following the introduction of the 26-player USMNT for the World Cup.

• FanDuel: Coaches Corner on FanDuel platforms and select cable systems will bring together Gregg Berhalter, Bruce Arena and Bob Bradley for analysis and storytelling during before and during the World Cup. 

Rob Stone will host the series, which will span 10 episodes, beginning with a World Cup preview show on June 1 and a USMNT preview on June 6. Group-stage recaps will air the day after the U.S. `matches. 

“What you get from Bruce, Bob and Gregg is the kind of candor and depth that only comes from people who have been in those shoes,” Stone said. “Coaching the national team at a World Cup is a singular experience, and hearing all three of them reflect on it together is something special for any soccer fan.”
