On Jan. 22, the NWSL announced the regular-season schedule for the 2025 season.
That’s less than two months before the start of the season, which kicks off on Friday night, but still better than it used to be. Three years ago on this date, the NWSL had not yet released its schedule.
The NWSL is coming off the third season in a row with record attendance and entering the second season of a new media deal with four national broadcasters, but it still faces economic challenges. Only one team (Kansas City) plays in a stadium that it owns and operates and doesn’t share with an MLS team.
