[WCC WOMEN] Despite heavy losses to graduation, four-time defending champion Portland was picked to win the 2011 West Coast Conference women’schampionship.

The Pilots earned six first-place votes and 61 overall points in a preseason poll of the WCC’s nine head coaches.
 
UP senior forward Danielle Foxhoven, junior defender/midfielder Kendall Johnson and sophomore midfielder CloeeColohan were voted to the preseason all-conference team although Johnson was reported to have torn her ACL and PCL in the spring.

The Pilots lost three all-conference players –WCC Player of the Year Keelin Winters, WCC Defensive Player of the Year Jessica Tsao and Elli Reed — to graduation.

Santa Clara, which garnered two first place votes, and WCC newcomer BYU tied for second place in preseason voting.
