International pressure from organizations like the United Nations is building on both FIFA and the Middle Eastern country of Qatar in an effort to prevent the exploitation of migrant workersin the buildup to the 2022 World Cup, which Qatar will be hosting. Even UEFA President Michel Platini has said he is “much more concerned” with the allegations ofmistreatment of migrant workers than he is with discussions over whether to move the tournament to the winter.
