The race for the 2011 Scottish Premier League turned ugly when a fan came out of the stands and attacked Celtic manager Neil Lennon during his club’s 3-0 winat Hearts.
Celtic is involved in a tight race for the Scottish title — it trails Rangers by one point with one game to play — and Lennon had made comments critical of Hearts’performance at Rangers last weekend. Hearts lost, 4-0.
(Hearts manager Jim Jefferies responded, “Should I not accuse him of not trying againstInverness?” Jefferies was referring to Celtic’s shock defeat in the Highlands that may have cost it the title.)
