German Leo Stolz, who led UCLA to a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Men’s Tournament and berth in the Men’s College Cup final, is the 2014 Soccer America Men’s Player ofthe Year. Arun Basuljevic, who helped Georgetown reach the quarterfinals, is the second Hoya in three years to be namedthe Soccer America Men’s Freshman of the Year. Pete Caringi, who led UMBC to the College Cup with four straight shutout wins on the road, is the Soccer AmericaMen’s Coach of the Year.

Stolz started in all 24 games for the Bruins, leading them in goals (9) and points (24) and tied the lead in assists (6). He is only the second UCLA player to benamed Soccer America Men’s Player of the Year after Paul Caligiuri, who shared the award with Duke’s John Kerrin 1986.
