The battle between U.S. Soccer’s Girls Development Academy and the ECNL to be the top girls league in the USA has led to what Lorne Donaldson, Director of Real Colorado, describes asa “toxicenvironment.” Mark Krikorian, coach of the reigning women’s Division I champion Florida State, said, “What’s happenednow is you have competing interests. Both of the organizations are pulling in their own direction, and it’s separated the talent. There is no top league.”
