Speaking at Zurich University, Swiss Attorney General Michael Lauber said UEFA president Michel Platini was being treated as “betweena witness and an accused person” in the investigation into the $2 million payment he received from UEFA in 2011.
Lauber said authorities would raid Platini’s UEFA office in Nyon if necessary todiscover the “real truth.”
Investigators questioned Platini and FIFA president Sepp Blatter on Friday. A criminal case has opened against Blatter, who was quizzed as asuspect, in connection with the Platini payment and a TV deal involving former Concacaf president Jack Warner.
Platini said Tuesday he has nothing to fear because he did nothing wrong.
