USL: Miami FC ousts Championship top seed Rowdies

The top seed Tampa Bay Rowdies fell 5-4 in a shootout against Miami FC in the Eastern Conference quarterfinals. The star was Curaçao World Cup keeper Eloy Room, who saved a penalty late in overtime and two attempts in the shootout to lead No. 8 seed Miami FC to its first playoff win in seven seasons. In the USL League One quarterfinals, top seed Charlotte Independence, expansion AC Boise,
the Chattanooga Red Wolves and Forward Madison advanced.
