Inter Miami’s new home, the 26,700-seat Nu Stadium, will host the 2027 FIFA Women’s Champions Cup’s semifinals, third-place game and final in January. Mexico’s Club America will represent Concacaf thanks to its win over the Washington Spirit in the 2026 Concacaf W Championship Cup final.
NWSL: Jordynn Dudley heroics carry Gotham past Courage
The rookie out of Florida State scored two goals, including the winner in stoppage time, to give first-place Gotham FC a 2-1 victory over the North Carolina Courage in front of a sold-out crowd of 10,551 at WakeMed Soccer Park. NWSL: Vlatko Andonovski makes ‘easy decision’ in move to Chicago
Less than two weeks after abruptly leaving the Kansas City Current, Andonovski has been named the Chicago Stars sporting director. Andonovski, who won NWSL titles with FC Kansas City in 2014 and 2015, joins the Stars, who finished in last place in the NWSL in 2025 and are again last.

Megan Rucker scored in the seventh minute to give Saint-Malo a 1-0 win over Montpellier for its first win ever in France’s top-flight Première Ligue. Alexis Missimo came off the bench and assisted on Carina Baltrip-Reyes’ goal that gave Olympique de Marseille a 2-1 win over Lens in her Première Ligue debut.

UNDER-20 WOMEN’S WORLD CUP: USA ties Japan after leading twice
The USA, which opened with a 2-1 loss to Italy, kept alive its hopes of reaching the U-20 Women’s World Cup knockout stage with a 2-2 tie against Japan. The USA enters its final Group D against New Zealand on Saturday in third place in Group D.
BALLON D’OR: Lionel Messi and Rose Lavelle are nominated for 2026 awards
Messi, winner of a record eight Ballon d’Or trophies, faces stiff competition from one of the deepest fields in history. Lavelle was nominated for the first time since 2019 when she finished eighth. She led Gotham FC to its second NWSL title in 2025. Lavelle’s U.S. teammate Lily Yohannes is among the nominees for the Women’s Young Talent of the Year.
Brazil great Formiga says 2027 World Cup will ‘change players’ lives’
