Italy had already won Group E before its 1-0 loss to Ireland in their Euro 2016 group finale, and Paris St. Germain midfielder Thiago Motta is confident the Azzurri can recover from the lossfor their match against two-time defending champion Spain in the round of 16.
“It will be a wonderful match with Spain and we have to believe,” he told RAI Sport. “They are thefavourites, but the game still has to be played. We will step on to the field to do our job and try to reach the quarterfinals. We are confident because we know our strengths and weaknesses.”
