The Mexican soccer federation on Tuesday handed Tijuana midfielder Juan Arango a two-game suspension for biting defender Jesus Zavala on the shoulder during the final minutes ofTijuana’s 4-3 home defeat to Monterrey.
Though Zavala went down holding his left shoulder, the referee, who failed to see the incident took no action.
Arango’s two-gamesuspension is interesting considering the four-month suspension and nine-game international suspension given to Uruguay forward Luis Suarez for biting Italy defender Giorgio Chielliniduring last summer’s World Cup.
