[UNDER-20 WORLD CUP] Tab Ramos has named the 21-player roster that will represent the USA at the 2013 U-20 World Cupthat kicks off in Turkey June 21.
Five players were not part of the team that finished second behind Mexico at the Concacaf Under-20 Championship in March. They include
Sixteen of the 21 players are pros –nine in MLS — while four are college players, and one is still in high school. The group also includes nine players from California and four from Texas.
Four key players — three of themcentral defenders — are unable for the U-20 World Cup. Will Packwood (Birmingham City) and Marc Pelosi (LiverpoolU-21s) were injured much of the spring, FC Dallas rookie Walker Zimmerman has been injured much of the season and only recently returned to action, while John AnthonyBrooks of German second division champion Hertha Berlin has not yet committed to playing for the USA at the international level.
