[AMERICANS ABROAD] Notre Dame midfielder Michael Thomas, a second-round draft pick of the San Jose Earthquakes in the2010 MLS SuperDraft, has signed with Halmstads BK in the Swedish top division, Allsvenskan. He joins former Irish teammate Ryan Miller at Halmstad.
 
Thomas, a central midfielder, was an all-Big East pick in 2009 after scoring six goals and six assists.
 
Miller earned All-America honors during his senior season atNotre Dame in 2007.
