• Four goals for Markanich:
 Nick Markanich scored four goals, including a hat trick in the first half, and added an assist as Charleston extinguished Las Vegas, 6-0, to remain on top in the Eastern Conference.

• LouCity’s best start ever: Louisville City fashioned its 6-0 win over Hartford in a different manner, getting goals from six different players. It has scored at least five goals in a game three times en route to a 6-1-0 start, its best ever.

• Phillips to the rescue: Kieran Phillips, acquired on loan from sister club Huddersfield Town two weeks ago, came off the bench and scored two late goals to give unbeaten Sac Republic FC (5-0-3) a 3-1 win over Loudoun United.

• Delgado out as Roots coach. Oakland fired Noah Delgado as its head coach. The Roots (2-5-1) named assistant coach Gavin Glinton as interim head coach.

• Trivia: Republic FC’s Mark Briggs became the third coach in USL Championship history to record 100 league wins after Bob Lilley and Mike Anhaeuser.
